About Me

I am originally from Spokane, Washington.  Most of my family members there are doctors or have been involved in the medical field. Growing up, it seemed likely that I would become a doctor too. In high school, I discovered that I loved and was skilled at math. Studying Bioengineering in college made a lot of sense for me at the time because it allowed me to solve complex engineering problems, perform research, and stay close to what I knew well.

During the Covid pandemic, it became clear to me that health is so much more than disease prevention. It is about mental well-being, taking care of our environment, and finding people that inspire you to be the best version of yourself, amongst many other things. Something that helped me greatly was going for runs and hikes almost every day. I felt so blessed that Seattle is such a beautiful area for these things and want to do my part to make sure that we are preserving our environment for generations to come.

Wherever my career takes me, I hope to use engineering and technology to help those around me to have a better quality of life.  I hope to promote sustainability, drive innovation, and learn as much as I can along the way.  I hope to support other women pursuing STEM to be confident in their abilities and to engage with outreach opportunities that teach women in rural areas about STEM careers.

In my free time, you will probably see me running all over Seattle, skiing, tinkering /teaching myself something new, or spending time with my friends.
